currently reading

The Art of Living and Other Stories, John Gardner (1974)
In the Heart of the Heart of the Country, William H. Gass (1958)
The Joy Luck Club, Amy Tan (1989)

seemed to be turning into quite a fan of ms tan. lol. she makes me feel so chinese. interestingly, didn't know she had lyme disease till yesterday, which is basically a neurological disorder that messes with your memory and motor skills. and seeing how physio course has been dealing so much with neurology so much these past 2 years, can understand how hard it is for someone to not be able to walk properly or walk around neighbourhood without getting lost. really really understand what she means when she talked about frantically trying to get words down on good days before she lost it again.

hmmm. been reading too much. must try to get some studying done. ^^ oh well, i was very sad then. but have not read so much for a very long time.

Hi Lazycat,

Now it is my turn to drop by to say hi. As I told Sam, I would not be able to recognise you if we meet on the streets!

Did you like the Joy Luck Club? It still ranks as one of my favorite reads, as like you mentioned Amy Tan weaves the oriental elements very well into the lives of each of the women. How did you find Hundred Secret Senses? I did not like that book though.

Anyway, happy reading!

hello suntan eye ^^,

i don't think i have changed that much, although frankly, the last time u saw me i was barely out of training-nappies and still running around screaming my head off.

you haven't changed much though, judging from your pics. ^^. still as pretty as ever. and i think the bob is great on u. lol. what r u talking about? hair woes indeed. i have lion's mane when i wake up. don't complain.

hmmm. lots of girls seem to detest hundred secret senses. i don't know why. i think it wasn't a bad read. i quite like the "crazy" sister; she amuses me for some reason. still going through joy luck atm. so far so good. ^^ although, ms tan seems to adopt quite a sexist point of view, as in always from a woman's perspective, and the guys are always somehow negative, if not outright bad, then they are weak in some way. i think i would go look for her latest soon; was it "saving fish from drowning"? interested to see how lyme disease has affected her writing.

anyways, thanks for dropping by and happy readings to u 2! ^^
